Workshops and Support Groups
While caring for a loved one can be an honor, it can also be isolating and exhausting.
You are not alone.
Workshops and Support Groups
- Caregiver Support Groups: You are not alone! Connect with other caregivers in a safe setting. In-person and Zoom options are offered throughout each month to fit any schedule.
- Wellness Workshops: These monthly workshops will help caregivers to recognize sources of stress, understand the impact this stress can have on your own health and wellbeing, and identify strategies to manage stress and prioritize wellness, so that you can take care of yourself and continue to provide care to your care recipient. Each workshop will focus on a wellness component falling under one the of following categories: physical, emotional, intellectual, and social. Participants can expect to be provided with education and resources about the wellness topic of the month, followed by an activity and discussion.
- Creative Connections: A monthly creative outlet for caregivers! Leah D’Amour leads a monthly art class with a new project each month. No artistic experience is necessary. Materials are provided. Feel free to bring a friend or family member to join!
- Write for Respite: Katie Koles, SMAA Adult Day Program Nurse and Creative Writing major, guides caregivers through therapeutic writing sessions. Topics and inspiration varies each month. No prior writing experience required. Materials provided.
