SMAA’s new Springvale location at the Anderson Learning Center is officially open! Here are some program highlights.
- We are accepting members at our Adult Day Program geared toward individuals with Alzheimer’s and other dementias. The stimulating activities and environment help slow down the memory loss process while combating depression and isolation. Meanwhile, caregivers receive several hours of much-needed respite. For more information or to schedule a tour, contact Adult Day Program Manager, Nicole Garrity, at 207.396.6508 or ngarrity@smaaa.org.
- SMAA’s A Matter of Balance class begins next month in Springvale! This discussion-based class, mixed with some gentle exercise, helps participants understand fall prevention tips and tricks, increase activity levels to improve strength and balance, and learn how to make safety changes in their homes. Learn more and sign up at smaaa.org/events.
- We’ll be hosting Community Cafés starting in December. Learn more about these monthly social meals here.
- SMAA Resource Specialists are available via appointment to help older adults and caregivers navigate issues with housing, healthcare, benefits, and other components of the complex network of services available in southern Maine.
- We’re hiring! Check out our current career opportunities. We are also always looking for volunteers!
