Administrative Assistant II - Sam L. Cohen Center
Southern Maine Agency on Aging is seeking a full time Administrative Assistant for its Adult Day Center in Biddeford. Responsibilities include a wide variety of administrative and clerical tasks, including setting up and maintaining efficient office procedures and filing systems, preparing typewritten documents using Word and Excel, organizing meetings, answering inquiries by phone, processing cash transactions, preparing monthly billing, including a number of different funding sources, researching and organizing information, proofreading, maintaining logs and files, fulfilling information requests, photocopying, filing, and assist with the intake process.

Required Knowledge and Skills
Qualifications include: Post-secondary education in a related field and at least two years of experience as an administrative assistance in a business office, or the equivalent in education and experience required. a high level of proficiency in computers and Microsoft Office 2010 programs, especially Word and Excel;  experience with, and interest in, social networking; judgment and initiative required to work independently to manage multiple priorities with minimal guidance; excellent interpersonal skills for dealing tactfully with staff, members and the general public; proficiency in general office procedures and organizing a complex set of administrative systems and procedures; and proficiency in verbal and written communications. Experience in working with the elderly and other social service programs is preferred.
