What's Happening at the Stewart Center

Here's just a few of our latest programming initiatives:

Spirituality and Relaxation

We’ve recently started a guided meditation program to help members who would benefit from spirituality and relaxation. The staff is leading yogic breathing sessions. Every day we incorporate a seated exercise session before lunch. This helps stimulate our members’ appetites and ensures that they have some focused fitness during their time with us.

Music Therapy

We offer music in many different forms daily. Additionally, our staff leads multiple musical groups throughout the week with instruments, including ukuleles and hand percussion, which are all played by the members.

Pet Therapy

Pets are popular at the Stewart Center. Franklin, a mixed breed lovable ball of fur is a certified therapy dog. He and his human entertain the members will tricks and wags.

Art Therapy

Our art program continues to thrive. Nancy Meyer, the artist we began working with when we received the grant from the Davis Foundation, continues to lead art groups at the Stewart Center Center. We’ve been working on mixed media projects like weaving, foil stamping and making felt flowers. The members enjoy using different textures for experimentation.
