What's Happening at the Sam L. Cohen Center

Here's just a few of our latest programming initiatives:

Men's Group and Ladies Tea

Recently we've started two groups that encourage reminiscing. The Ladies Tea takes on a formal setting with porcelain tea cups. The Men's Group meets in the living room and often the discussion focuses on military service as we have many veterans attending regularly.

Music Therapy

We offer music in many different forms daily. Additionally, our staff leads multiple musical groups throughout the week with instruments, including ukuleles and hand percussion, which are all played by the members.

Pet Therapy

Elton is the Sam L. Cohen Center's familiar, furry face. Elton is a constant source of joy and entertainment for the members.

Art Therapy

Our art program continues to thrive. Nancy Meyer, the artist we began working with when we received the grant from the Davis Foundation, continues to lead art groups at the Cohen Center. We’ve been working on mixed media projects like weaving, foil stamping and making felt flowers. The members enjoy using different textures for experimentation.
